Which Type Of Security Is Best For Your Small Business?

Shuretech • 23 August 2022

Are you trying to protect your business? You’re not alone. There are so many options on the market that you may find yourself trying to decide which options you need. As a small business, you want the most for your money, so it’s important to look into what is available and what it does.

There are several options for small businesses. Let’s take a look.

CCTV Cameras

Every business, regardless of size, should have at least one camera. This will provide a deterrent to burglars, but also capture evidence if necessary. Any crimes can be recorded on the camera and you’ll be able to use that for evidence with the police and in court. It can be very useful to have.

Shutters

Shutters are usually made of metal and help prevent anyone from entering the front of the shop. The slats fit together to form a flat wall that is quite difficult to get through.

If you have a small shop on a busy road, you may wish to install roller shutters, which can be rolled down after closing. The bottom piece locks onto the bottom of the storefront and the windows and door are completely blocked out.

Grilles

Like shutters, grilles offer extra protection to the storefront. However, they are open-worked and will not stop small objects from fitting through. The grills usually pull in from one or both sides of the shop and lock securely to prevent anyone from messing with the storefront.

A grille does tend to look a little nicer than a shutter and it’s just as hard to get through. You don’t need both, so decide which option you prefer for protecting your storefront.

Alarms

Finally, you should have a sound alarm if you’re determined not to lose product to vandals or burglars. An alarm is usually more than enough to frighten people away if they are trying for an easy score. With cameras and a proper alarm system, you can frighten them off and they’ll know that you have all the necessary precautions.

It’s also a good idea to note that lighting will drastically affect how safe the store is at night, as well. The more light, the harder it is for people to break in. Make sure you have some good strong lights on the front of the store to help out with that.
